Our Leaders
Michael J. Barone, CFA - Equity Portfolio Manager
A Charter Financial Analyst (CFA), Mr. Barone co-founded SIDUS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT LLC and oversees the management of our equity funds. He was previously the Vice President and Senior Technology Analyst at Tudor Investments from 1996 to 2000, overseeing the telecommunications, software, and semiconductor departments.
Before his tenure at Tudor Investments, Mr. Barone worked as an analyst at Essex Investment Management from 1993 to 1996 and ABB Investment Management from 1989 to 1993, covering small and mid-cap growth companies in the telecommunications, semiconductor, and software sectors.

Education
After completing a B.A. in Engineering course at Lafayette College, Mr. Barone proceeded to earn his M.B.A. from City College (CUNY). He also holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in Finance from New York University.
Paul C. Hackett III – Portfolio Analyst, Credit
Mr. Hackett co-Founded the Sidus IV Credit Opportunity Fund in May 2009, serving as portfolio manager for fifteen years.
Mr. Hackett currently serves as credit analyst for public and private credit, convertible bonds, and interest rate products.
He provides sought after commentary on debt, business development companies, private equity and credit, interest rates, and the Federal Reserve.
Prior to joining Sidus, Mr. Hackett spent eighteen years on Wall Street with the last decade spent managing convertible bond sales and trading operations within the high yield departments of Bank of New York and Wasserstein Perella/Grantchester. Prior firms included Bankers Trust, Lehman, and JP Morgan. He started at Mabon Securities working for bank and insurance analysts.
Mr. Hackett proudly served on Senator Bill Bradley’s successful 1990 campaign for U.S. Senate.
His private sector career started at Andersen Consulting.
Like Mr. Barone, he graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in engineering.

Mark Schalles, CPA - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Schalles is the company’s Chief Financial Officer. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Fairfield Advisors, LLC, and its managed entities in 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Schalles served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Kellogg Group, LLC and its predecessor firms, positions he has held since 1980.
While at Kellogg, Mr. Schalles served on the Firm’s Executive Committee, which oversaw all aspects of the company’s business, including risk management, compliance initiatives, new business funding, budgeting, and acquisitions.

Education
Mr. Schalles graduated Summa cum Laude from Bucknell University with a B.S. in Accounting.
